This article will probably be uploaded somewhere in March but at the time of writing this, it is January 2023.
I recalled feeling strongly as 2022 was coming to a close that 2023 is The Year! 2022 was The Preparatory Year but 2023 is The Year!
Of what? God only knows.
I do not know of His plans for me but I had a feeling that this is gonna be a good one for sure. One that I’ve been waiting for.
Naturally, as the year comes to a close and a new one begins, we all have our own set of goals and aspirations for the following year.
Hence, here are 3 Goals & Expectations of mine that I hope to accomplish by the end of 2023.

1. Live Healthier
And hopefully shed some weight in the process.
Mainly, it is about correcting my diet and regaining control of my life. I have lived a rather unhealthy one for some time now. Compulsive eating, binge eating, well mainly… eating. It is as if there is something wrong with my satiety centre in my brain.
I’ve tried going vegan in 2022, transitioned to being vegetarian and going on a keto diet and finally trying intermittent fasting yet none of these were sustainable.
I finally found one that is sustainable at least for me, but we shall see how these goes. I’ve basically stopped consuming rice and swapped my regular rice meal with rolled oats.
However, instead of just oats with milk and a spoonful of peanut butter, I would make soup or curry and drop a serving of oats while the gravy is hot. It is sustainable so far as I feel full longer and I carry around two tiny packets just in case I dine outside with my family or friends.
Hence, January has transitioned into a month of ordering noodles soup but without the “noodles” or curry mee but without the “mee”.
For me, 1 serving comprises of:
- 1/2 cups of rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
In a day, 2 packets is enough to sustain me throughout the day and since I do not consume it with milk but incorporate it into my regular daily dishes, it does not get boring at all.
I would add lots of green vegetables and mushrooms but I rarely consume meat and processed foods unless I order at a restaurant as the soup or curry tends to have meat. Not because I am avoiding it but because I do not crave it. Hence, on most days, I’m a vegan (unintentionally).
I find myself not reaching for snacks which I usually do, usually in between meals (chocolates, wafers or bread). My satiety prevents me from doing so.
In addition to that, by noon, my energy levels would go spiralling downhill almost immediately but ever since I’ve incorporated oats into my diet, I find myself functioning well throughout the day as usual which is absolutely refreshing.
What’s good about it is I do not find myself starving as I did with intermittent fasting and being vegetarian or vegan by choice. Instead, now I am being vegetarian or vegan by default without restricting myself, which in a way is good right? My cravings are controlled and my satiety lasts me throughout the day.
I know that this road to being healthy is a lifelong process and is about lifestyle changes. Hence, I hope to see changes physically in the months to come as despite being in for just 11 days (at the time of writing), I can already feel the benefits.
2. Financial Freedom
At the time of writing this article, I am 25. Well, 26 in October in 2023 and yet I am still financially dependant on my parents with a savings drier than the hottest desert.
I need to educate myself financially. I know that I am about to enter the workforce soon as I am currently awaiting my internship.
Hopefully, this year will be the year!
3. Growing The Theoretical Doctor
By this, I mean both my YouTube Channel as well as this website. At least till I enter my internship period.
My aim is to record as many videos as I can as well as to write as many articles as I possibly can and schedule them.
It is going to be a tedious work with hours to burn. However, I believe that I can do it. So far, I am optimistic about this and have motivation.
Here are my 3 main goals I plan to accomplish by the end of 2023.
I hope that by the end of 2023, I would be writing another article of how wonderful 2023 had been for me.
Blessed 2023 and I sincerely hope that it will be a valuable one for you as well!
