Acquiring an off day or a slow day is a privilege. Well, at least in my field of practice as well as the hospital I’m currently practicing in.
Being a houseman in Malaysia, we are required to work 6 days a week and is entitled to one off day per week. If we work the night shift, then we are entitled for “post night” the morning we clock out from work.
On most days, it is almost always busy. This means that from the moment I clock in at work till the moment I clock out, I am on my foot scurrying around, completing tasks and going about my day.
Hence, do lazy days make me feel rested or unproductive? Well, for a slow day, it feels good as I am able to complete my tasks on time and probably return on time but also unproductive partly because I am pretty much on edge all the time or on my feet, walking about.
Thus, on days like that, time simply moves slowly for me. Nonetheless, I still appreciate a slow day or a day off.
