“What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?”
My first hour of the day was messed up in my second posting of my housemanship journey. Partly because I dread the thought of showing up in that department every single day, unsure of who my bosses would be for that day on top of doing work I absolutely dislike.
The workload was doable and less. Mostly I would be done by the afternoon or even before and for the rest of the day, I am free until something creeps up of course.
Thus, at the time of writing this, I have thankfully moved on to another posting whereby the environment is rather encouraging and friendly. A place where I feel supported. Suddenly, going to work the following day does not seem like a bad idea anymore.
Hence, I try to find and tune my morning to how it used to be previously.
1. Coffee

I’ve recently purchased a coffee maker. Back, during my university days, I used to have my own coffee maker which I am rather dependant upon.
However, upon moving to Kuching, Sarawak, I’ve forgotten my morning routine after being on break for months and getting another coffee at that time did not seem necessary either. But it’s the small things like this that adds a tinge of joy to my day.
Thus, upon waking up, I’d fill the coffee filter with some grounded coffee beans and start running the machine, filling my room with that lovely scent of brewed coffee.
2. Toast

I. Love. Toast.
I know I’ve said it numerous times in my previous morning routine posts.
But it’s the joy of having a freshly toasted bread with jam and butter, tasting the sweetness, experiencing the crunchiness and warmth of a toasted bread in your palate in the morning is just divine.
Alright, that’s for toast.
3. Getting ready for my day

This involves me stepping into the shower, of course. After a short shower, I would don my work clothes on which I usually lay out respectively for the whole week.
This is followed by me tying up my hair and finally having breakfast, filling up my flasks for work before grabbing my stuffs and out the door to begin my day.
Finally, the day officially begins.
