I think I’ve exhausted all of you enough regarding my experiences during my first posting which is in Orthopaedics.
Perhaps it’s because I’ve yet to move on from it, I mean it was my first posting, a.k.a my first love, so called.
I began my second posting tentatively on the 4th of November 2023 on the 124th day of my housemanship / internship journey which happened to fall on a Saturday.
What is my second posting?
Why O&G?
Well, I didn’t choose O&G as my first choice for my second posting. I applied for Medical some time ago in August with my friends but was placed to go to O&G instead while the rest got accepted into Medical.
Somehow deep inside, I always knew my next posting would be O&G. So, did I manifested it? Most likely so.
Do I regret it?
Perhaps it’s too soon for me to say.
So far, at the time of writing this article, I am at Day 7 of tagging. Despite getting yelled at here and there. I think it’s still relatively “chiller” as compared to my previous posting.
I definitely enjoyed my previous posting and I do miss it. However, it was physically exhausting.
Whereas in this posting, I find myself sitting or finding time to eat amidst the chaos. Either the posting is relatively “chiller” or I’ve somehow found a way around the system to make time for myself.
The best part of it?
Well, amidst mixing medications, observing and conducting spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD) and assisting in caesarean sections, I’m finally in a posting with my dear best friend, Dr. Tan Wei Shern!
Albeit being in the same posting, at the moment, we’re both still tagging and most of the time, our schedules do not match. Hence, it is hard for us to meet up. But it feels nice to know that someone is much nearer.
Honestly, I know there’s so much more to learn and I’m rather excited even before entering this posting. I’ve heard rumours and gossips regarding this posting. However, it’s time for me to experience for myself and well, write about it if needed.
Till then, all the best to me, and you too if you are currently on your housemanship journey as well or is about to begin!
We’ve got this!
