If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?
Well, if you don’t know already, I love to cook. In my previous post, The Joy Of Returning Home To Cook, I’ve written about how cooking brings me peace.
Now, if I were to open a shop?
Well, there is nothing I would love better than to just cook or even bake.
Ever since I could remember, back in primary school around the age of 8 years old, every time there is a kid’s birthday, the parents would bring something usually in the form of sweets or snacks and also a cake for us to celebrate together. It was always a joyous occasion.
I recalled this mother bringing a few trays of baked muffins, one for each of us and I was amazed at the beauty of homebaked goods. I’m ashamed to say this but a part of me wishes that my mom would do the same but she does not know how to bake or cook other dishes other than her regular simple good dishes which I enjoy as well.
It was then, I made it a point that I would learn baking the moment I’m given the chance because I would love to bake for my family and friends as well as to bring baked goods for my future children.
I was given that opportunity at the age of 15 years old, when my family shifted to a new house and was given a free oven. It was then that I started experimenting in various recipes. I would look forward to baking after school and setting aside some for my parents and bringing the rest to my tuition class.
In regards to cooking, I started delving into cooking during my freshmen year in university. It began with simple dishes and eventually during my third year once I had moved out of the hostel and was living off campus that I started experimenting with other cuisines and recipes. I started getting really heavy into it during the lockdown period of the COVID-19.
It somehow brought a sense of peace and satisfaction. What more, when I see my friends of family enjoying them and looking forward towards my next cooking.
Thus if I were to have a shop, I’m not quite sure what the theme would be but I would definitely love to sell baked goods and various dishes.
